We would like to demonstrate an operational cooperative ITS system to interested conference visitors, that was recently launched by Ireland's Transport Minister. Transport Infrastructure Ireland, with co-funding from the European Commission has implemented a C-ITS pilot on the core TEN-T motorway network in Ireland. The pilot is currently on-going with live traffic management information being provided direct from TII's traffic management centre to drivers via in-vehicle devices. The demonstration will require a tablet and smartphone with software applications running to illustrate how C-ITS services are presented to pilot participants. In addition, we will have pre-recorded videos on these devices as well as being shown on a monitor to demonstrate how C-ITS services such as 'traffic jam ahead', 'stationary vehicle' and 'lane closure' are being presented to drivers. The demonstration will also make use of a laptop (with wi-fi connection) to show a data analysis platform, that in near real time allows a pilot manager to view events, number of devices etc. across the pilot network. We will have an ITS-G5 road side unit and an ITS-G5 on board unit available on the stand as props representing part of the C-ITS communications infrastructure along with information about how each have been installed in different environments. Main Audience This proposed demonstration is likely to be of interest to range of audiences, but could be of most interest to road operators at both a national/regional and local level.
