Details
Vehicle- and infrastructure-based sensors, mobile devices and wearables acquire larger and larger amounts of data in our road transport system. The analysis of this big data by artificial intelligence (AI) can support the prediction of safety-critical situations and finally enable taking countermeasures in real time. This session will present highlights in the use of AI for these purposes and discuss approaches to overcome existing challenges, e.g. in terms of the data sharing. It will derive needs for research and opportunities for international cooperation in this context, both with low- and middle income countries and technological leaders, such as the US.
