Wicklow Meeting Room 2A

Details

This session brings together two complementary approaches: Barcelona will present its public and non-profit models for acquiring and retrofitting buildings to increase the affordable housing stock. The Irish Hub of the Wellbeing Economy Alliance will share a recent report and outline bottom-up experiences of creative placemaking in developing inclusive neighborhoods, incorporating cohousing and community-led housing in Irish towns and villages. After a short roundtable that sets the scene—with case studies from Barcelona and Ireland, we will move to a co-creative process, where together we will identify the blockers and enablers to repurposing existing housing stock and developing new local resilient neighbourhoods.
