Ellis Court, built in the 1880s by Dublin Corporation, was one of country's first ever purpose-built social housing. The Victorian-era building on Benburb Street in Dublin lay vacant for nearly 20 years following a fire in 2005, but was regenerated by Tuath Housing and Dublin City Council and relaunched as social housing in 2024, with 19 apartments and three townhouses. This site visit will draw a picture of the past, present, and future of Ellis Court as an example of the ongoing social value of public housing. This site visit is adult only and is walkable from the CCD.
