Details

Pfizer sponsored non-promotional symposium that is intended for UK healthcare professionals only. 'Psychological impact and healthcare disparities in blood cancer : Can we do better?' The first presentation of this symposium titled 'The psychological burden for people living with blood cancer and beyond' will discuss the rationale, methodology and the findings of a systematic literature review (SLR) on the topic, uncover the unmet need found from the SLR and finally talk about what healthcare community can do to support. The second presentation titled 'Inequalities of Outcomes in Acute Myeloid Leukaemia (AML)' discusses the disparities in outcomes in AML, what the causes of these disparities are and what we can do as an AML community to address them. Following these speaker sessions, a panel discussion with the clinicians and a patient advisor will take place. The purposes are: firstly, to share deeper insights about the disparities and what the wider blood cancer community can do to address these unmet needs; secondly, to incorporate the patient's voice and first-hand experience in the matter to bring the speakers presentation into perspective.
