Crossroads in Haematology: Diagnostic and Management Pitfalls Across Specialties
This year’s Pitfalls in Haematology course explores the cross section of haematology and other specialties. Exploring specialties such as cardiology, infectious diseases, rheumatology, dermatology and more, the day features interactive case-based talks from specialties and Haematologists.
Learning objectives:
By the end of the day, participants will be able to:
1. Recognise haematological conditions that commonly present at the interface with other specialties
2. Identify common diagnostic pitfalls in haematology
3. Apply structured diagnostic approaches to complex cases
4. Evaluate management dilemmas at specialty crossroads
5. Interpret haematological investigations accurately
6. Recognise when early cross speciality input is critical.
7. Integrate current guidelines and evidence into the management of complex, cross-specialty haematological cases
8. Demonstrate clinical reasoning in case-based discussions, highlighting how haematology expertise informs decision-making across specialties
