This is a promotional symposium organised and funded by GSK, intended for UK healthcare professionals only. GSK invites you to join our promotional symposium led by myelofibrosis experts, Prof. Beth Psaila and Dr. Donal McLornan. The symposium will address the latest clinical evidence from European Haematology Association (EHA) 2025 for managing adult myelofibrosis patients with moderate to severe anaemia. This session will provide practical guidance on patient selection and evidence-based treatment strategies to optimise clinical decisions. The symposium will then conclude with a Q&A session, offering attendees an opportunity to engage directly with the experts.

Speaker One

Beth is a Professor of Haematology at the University of Oxford where she leads a laboratory focused on two research areas - understanding disease mechanisms in myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPNs) and studying the cell biology of megakaryocytes and platelets. Beth specialises in the care of patients with MPNs, leading a portfolio of clinical trials with a particular focus on targeted therapies. She is currently the Chair of the Blood Cancer UK Research Network MPN Subgroup – a working party responsible for coordinating national delivery of clinical trials, guidelines and other educational initiatives, and real-world data collections.

Dr Donal McLornan

Dr Donal McLornan works as a consultant in the Myeloproliferative Neoplasms (MPN), allogeneic transplant and CAR-T team at University College London Hospital, which has the largest transplant and academic CAR T program in the UK. He is an Honorary Associate Professor in the Cancer Division, UCL. He has many years of experience in MPN management and research and is the immediate past Chair of the UK Blood Cancer Research Network MPN clinical study group. He is the elected chair of the Chronic Malignancy Working Party of the European Group for Blood and Marrow Transplantation (EBMT) (representing >700 transplant centres) and Co-chair of the EBMT Scientific Council. He has a particular interest in MPN, MPN/ Myelodysplastic Syndromes (MDS) overlap and allogeneic stem cell transplantation. His research and clinical trial portfolio focuses on MPN and blast phase disease and he has published widely on these topics with >215 publications.
